The process of creating intuitive, simple, and efficient websites and apps is known as user experience design. Every aspect that affects a user’s interaction with a product or service is considered in this process.
For Digital Lab 2, a course focused on learning the basics of UX design, second-year International Communication and Media (ICM) students were tasked to create a fictitious travel agency or tour operator for young adults. The final assignment required students to design a high-fidelity wireframe with interaction for the website of the travel agency or tour operator. Students learned how to create them in Adobe XD, the industry-standard UX design tool for web and mobile apps.
This group named their travel agency AtmosFair. The goal was for the design to be clear and precise, making the website easy and quick to use. Visually the site is designed to be sleek, appealing, and minimal with eye-catching destination pictures. Assignment by: Alicia Verstraeten, Kastanja Laurikko, Nina Hess, Paula Pawlowski. The agency for this next group is called Ilumina travel, focusing solely on travel to Barcelona. With accessibility in mind, they designed the website in a way that is more inclusive for people with diverse backgrounds and disabilities. Assignment by: Raul Perez, Svenja Fix, Nathan Maes, Ton Marquez. Our final example is SydTrek, a travel agency focused on Sydney, Australia.
